Experts In Frangibility

Pollite are considered frangibility experts and provide a full range of frangible masts and poles to support visual and non visual aids near airport runways, taxiways and aprons. All of our masts are designed specifically to comply with the latest ICAO and FAA requirements on frangibility, deflection and strength.

Our Products

Approach Masts

Pollite supply a complete range of frangible masts for airfield approach lighting. From a single light mast to a five light cross arm with an SFL/Flash Unit, Pollite frangible masts are designed with a number of beneficial features:

Windsock Masts

All Pollite Windsock masts are manufactured from glassfibre and polyester resin, finished with a UV resistant gel coat. Each pole has a unique break system incorporated within the main mast and is coloured to client specifications. The windsock cone is manufactured from 316 marine grade stainless steel and both external and internal lighting is available.

Anemometer Masts

Pollite masts are designed and tested with minimum deflection, and are therefore ideally suited for weather monitoring equipment that need to be mounted at height within the airfield; therefore on a frangible mast.

Case Studies

Mangalore airport is ‘quite safe and complete’

In June, we supported recommendations from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Airports Authority of India and the Ministry of Civil Aviation, for India to review its use of frangible structures on airport runways.

Sydney Airport stop bar project uses Pollite frangible masts

We are excited to announce that Sydney Airport has installed our frangible masts as part of the airside Stop Bar project at 47 taxiway/runway intersections across its three runways. This not only completes a $25 million runway safety upgrade programme by the airport, but also marks our launch into this market with our frangible stop bars.
